He was born in Goliad on July 1, 1936 to Manuel and Anita Cortines Cardosa.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a clerk at Corner Stop Store.
He is survived of his wife of 39 years, Virginia Cardosa, daughter, Claudia Mendoza, son, Rene Luna, four grandchildren, sisters, Eva Gonzalez, Mabel Solis and Rosie Camacho, all of Goliad, brothers, Manuel Cardosa Jr., Isreal Cardosa, both of Goliad and David Cardosa.

The Rosary was held at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home and funeral mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehefeld officiating.
Pallbearers were: Adam Luna, Steve Sangster, Calvin Walker, Albert Kutac, Sam Gonzales, Don Lee Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers were Corner Stop employees.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Accolade Hospice.
