Mrs. Pierda was born July 7, 1935, in Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Natividad Aguilar and Reducindo Villarreal. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She enjoyed attending La Amistad Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luis Pierda; brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, Juan Villarreal of West Texas; daughters, Diane Smith and Angelica Pedroza, both of West Texas, and Minerva (Jimmy Villafranco) Gonzales of Berclair; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Benny (Rachel) Villarreal of Littlefield.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there at 11 o’clock.
A graveside service followed at 1 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Viafranco, Cliff Rodriguez, Sonny Gonzalez, Sabastan Gonzalez, Rito Salas and Adrian Trevino.
