Robert Lee Easterwood, 79, of Belton died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at a residential care home in Pflugerville.

Mr. Easterwood was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Marlin to Robert Benjamin and Venia Jo (Bailey) Easterwood. He attended high school in Skidmore and married Edith Marie Lewis in Belton in 1956. He was employed as an electrician with the Corp of Engineers at Fort Hood and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Belton VFW.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; and a sister, Dorothy Westerberry.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Diane Harris of DeRidder, La. and Sandra Kay George of Elgin; one brother, George Lee Easterwood of Temple; five grandchildren, Jill Farris, Keith Harris, Sarah Brown, Jessica Roper and Shelley George; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.

A memorial service followed the visitation. Inurement will be at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco at a later date.
