The Lady Trojan JV softball team improved its district record to 8-1-2 with an easy 11-1 victory over the visiting Rockport-Fulton Lady Pirates on Tuesday night.

The Beeville girls jumped the Pirates with five runs in the first inning to take an early 5-0 lead on the R-F girls. Adrianna Baltazar pitched the first two innings for the Lady Trojans and did not allow a run.

The Lady Trojans added one more run in the bottom of the second and then pushed across four more runs in the third to take a 10-0 advantage into the fourth.

Theresa Amador pitched the final three innings for the Lady Trojans and blanked the visitors in the fourth but did give up one run in the fifth to make it a 10-1 contest.

The Lady Trojans got a leadoff double from catcher Kymberly Wolfe and a wild pitch moved her on to third. Celeste Contreras brought her in on a sacrifice fly to center to put the Lady Trojans in front, 11-1.

Amador also produced at the plate with a perfect 3-3 night and two RBI’s. Baltazar contributed one hit as did Alexis Pelitire, Amanda Gonzales, Patsy Longoria and Celeste Contreras.

Amador struck out the first two hitters she faced in the top of the fifth and then got the final out on a ground ball to short to end the game. The Lady Trojans won 11-1 because of the 10-run rule.

“Adrianna and Theresa both took charge on the mound for us. Along with Kymberly behind the plate, this trio has contributed a lot to our overall success this year,” said JV coach Ophelia De Los Santos.

The final game of the season was last night (Friday) in Corpus Christi against Moody.
