She was born in Beeville on Jan. 7, 1966, to Domingo and Virginia (Valencia) Garcia. She was a 1984 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She enjoyed photography, needlepoint and crocheting and had a unique love for her family and animals.
Miss Garcia was preceded in death by her father, Domingo Garcia, on March 27, 2006; a sister, Baby Garcia, who died as an infant; and her grandparents, Ygnacio and Aurelia Garcia, Jacobo and Trinidad Garcia and Juan and Elvira Valencia.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia (Valencia) Garcia of Clareville; several aunts and uncles and many other close relatives.
Visitation was held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m at Treviño Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock, with Deacon Manuel presiding.
Ramiro Quiroz and Laly Cardenas sang “I Can Only Imagine,” “Amazing Grace” and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.”
A chapel service was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Fernando Cisneros provided special music.
Interment followed at San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community. Luna y Sol Mariachi group, accompanied by Teles and Wally Gomez, provided special musical selections.
Pallbearers were Robert Valencia, David Valencia, John Bartlett, Andrew Bartlett, Jacob Valencia, Felipe Ramirez Sr., Jesse Monsivais Jr. and Frank Castillo Jr.
