The young Bobcats did not or get in the top 50 but did gain a wealth of experience on what it takes to get into the top echelon of the state’s top runners.
Bobcat Jonathan Hernandez placed 72nd in the big field with a time of 19:17 over the 3.1-mile course. Teammate Erasmo Huerta finished in 88th place in 19:34.
“This year’s race was a fast one. Throughout the race there were runners bunched up in big packs,” said S-T cross country coach Joseph Grimes III.
“Both Jonathan and Erasmo did a great job of competing at this level. They both can be proud of their accomplishments.”
