John Caldwell, an 84-year-old veteran of the Korean War, will be the guest speaker at a special rally to honor the nation’s veterans on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the steps of the Bee County Courthouse.

Caldwell, of Goliad, was a flight instructor with the U.S. Air Force and he flew 38 combat missions over Korea.

He also flew an unarmed helicopter during that war and is credited with three rescue missions flown behind enemy lines.

Caldwell retired from the Air Force after 28 years.

The rally is being organized by the Tea Party Patriots of Bee County.
