GOLIAD – The J.A. White Family Goliad Center for Texas History, which is located in the Goliad County Library, has new operating hours.

The Center is now open from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Presently, collections in the center consist of materials regarding the Judge J.A. White Family, the Markethouse Museum, Tim Von Dohlen as well as the record collections of local organizations.

Collections are composed of various formats, including journals, newspapers, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, photographs, school yearbooks, newspapers on microfilm and DVDs, audio recordings, scrapbooks, genealogies and vertical files. We also have more than a dozen bound, oral history interviews from members of our community.

We invite the public to visit the new facility and browse the selection of books available for check-out.

For more information, call Shelley Parks, Curator for the Center for Texas History at 645-2291 or email her at
