The Beeville junior varsity white and orange teams, like their varsity counterparts, were swept by visiting Ray on Tuesday at Marion B. Horton Gymnasium.

The JV orange team fell 25-8, 25-9, while the JV white team fell 25-13, 25-21.

In other action, JV orange dropped both of its matches at the triangular with Freer and Alice.

Alice won 25-19, 25-23 over the Trojans, while Freer won 25-21, 25-23 over the Trojans.

“They were all very close games,” said coach Tracey Garcia about her team’s play at the triangular. “The team continues to improve every game and is still learning the new offense and defense.

“I’m positive they will be ready as district approaches.”

JV white also dropped a pair at a triangular with Freer and Alice.

Against Freer, the Trojans won the second set 25-21, but fell 16-25 in both the first and third sets.

Against Alice, the Trojans fell 11-25, 21-25.

“From the last home game against Aransas Pass to (Tuesday’s) game against Ray, the JV white team has had tremendous improvement,” said coach Angela Newton. “I am seeing great things from my athletes and look forward to continuing to improve and find success in the near future.”
