Holy Cross Catholic Church Festival

Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown will be having their annual festival, Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Yorktown Community Hall. Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the church. At 10:30 a.m. the country store will open and lunch will be ready in the air conditioned hall. Homemade sausage and barbecue beef shoulder clod will be served with potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and drink, for $10 adult and pick up plates and $5 for children, 12 and under. Lunch will close at 2 p.m.

DJ Val Mungia will provide musical entertainment with your favorite polkas, waltzes and classic country music. At 11 a.m. the cake walk starts. The bounce house will open for the children at noon.

There will be two raffles, ticket prices are $5 each or 5 for $20. The Church Festival Committee raffle includes various gift certificates. The Knights of Columbus will be raffling off a Charolais bull calf, donated by the Bill and Nelda Jauer. The drawings will be held at 3 p.m.

A live auction will begin in the air conditioned dining hall at 1 p.m. Many items have been donated to the auction. Our Holy Cross Quilters have created another beautiful quilt. Also many hand-crafted and other unique items will be featured. Those interested in the auction are encouraged to sign up early.
