Mrs. Perez was born Oct. 22, 1920, in the La Para community, Live Oak County, to Jose and Maria (Guzman) Hinojosa. She married Ysaac Perez in George West on Sept. 12, 1936. She was a homemaker and member of Iglesia de Cristo Church in George West.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Isabel Perez; a daughter, Alicia Perez; a grandson, Max Perez Jr.; daughter-in-law, Elia Perez; a brother, Jose Hinojosa Jr.; and four sisters, Jesusa Luna, Lupe Guerrero, Felipa Rodriguez and Eva Vasquez.
Survivors include three sons, Ernesto (Alicia) Perez, Benny Perez and Max (Soila) Perez, all of George West; a grandson, Orlando Perez of Converse; one great-grandson; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Vicenta Godinez of Mathis.
Visitation was held at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel in Beeville on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 o’clock that evening.
The funeral services was conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Church of Christ in George West with ministers Julio Zuniga and Joel Serna officiating. Interment followed at the George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Orlando Perez, Eliseo Perez, Braulio Carvajal, Alonzo Carvajal, Raul Martinez and David Guerrero.
Honorary pallbearer was Noe Ortiz.
