To parents, family and friends,

As we begin the mass of school activities, the Pettus Independent School District coaching staff and administration would like to remind parents of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) guidelines, parent expectations, coach’s expectations and student athlete expectations during competition.

In recent years, the UIL has placed an emphasis on maintaining high standards of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity in our schools and in our many competitions. They also have asked that each school do their part by informing parents how to find and use this information to help educate our student athletes.

Encouraging and promoting Eagle Pride, Live By It, Pettus ISD also has a history of high standards and expectations for our students and staff, and with the help of the parents we would like to work together to continue this tradition. As we attend games or performances this spring, please be reminded of the following:

• The children will follow our lead. If we behave responsibly, students will do the same.

• As fans we have a right to disagree with an official, but ultimately the ruling will not change, and we must move on in a positive manner so that the kids are not affected.

• Let’s put our best foot forward and WIN the right way. As a school and a community, we get two to four hours a week to show others what Pettus is all about.

For more information on the UIL expectations go to the UIL website:

Thank you for all of your support.
