Grace Hammack has become the second student from Our Lady of Victory Middle school from Victoria to represent Kenedy 4B at the AAU Jr. Olympics. She was eligible to represent 4B by having grandparents and parents currently paying Kenedy city property tax. Hammack placed 2nd in the 13 year old female triple jump while being coached by Kenedy’s 4B Coordinator Manuel De La Garza. Coach De La Garza has advanced over a dozen athletes in the long jump, high jump and triple jump to the AAU Jr. Olympics, many with Kenedy 4B and the others from the Victoria Flying Flyers track squad. Recently, Coach De La Garza had Kristen Fisher, whom he has trained in track and field jumping since 4B track began, named to the National High School Elite performer list in the triple jump. Grace Hammack is the granddaughter of Lee Hammack of Kenedy and retired former KISD teacher Pat Hammack, whom now resides in Austin. The late Merle and Earle Brown from Kenedy are maternal grandparents. She is the daughter of Kenedy High school graduates, Mr. & Mrs. Kevin (Grace Brown) Hammack whom now reside in Victoria.
