Josephine “Jo” Oliver McGee was born on September 18, 1920, to Joseph and Ethel Edds Pavel in Halletsville, Texas and passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Josephine was active in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary serving as president

for many years.She taught school in Beeville at St. Josephs Catholic School after working in Sinton at Maverick Market as a manager for several years.Josephine actively participated in volunteer work and many organizations over the years while living in Sinton.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Skidmore, Texas. Josephine is survived by her husband, W.B. McGee; her children,

Frankie Jo Ellisor of Papalote, Texas, Bobby Oliver (Sara) of Rocksprings, Wyoming, Johnny Oliver (Jana) of Vernon, Texas. Lou Ellen Leeton (James) of Beeville, and step-daughters, Barbara Burris of Wharton, Texas and Connie McGee Wooten of Springtown, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Frank Oliver; son, Andy Oliver; stepsons, Marion Gentry and Buddy Oliver; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Steinmeyer officiating.

Interment followed at Sinton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were here grandsons, Casey Oliver and Jake Linney and great-grandsons, Bobby Biggerstaff, Eliott Biggerstaff, Todd Biggerstaff and Garrett Parker.
