Five A.C. Jones High students (Claryssa Luera, Sarah Draper, Ryan Gonzales, Teresa Cano and Esmeralda Hurtado) attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference in Houston March 5-8, where they competed in individual events, team events, campaign rallies and worked as interns.

A.C. Jones Chapter results are as follows:

• Administrative Support Team: Ryan Gonzales, Teresa Cano and Esmeralda Hurtado – 7th place

• Business Meetings Management Concepts: Ryan Gonzales – 2nd place

• Administrative Support Concepts: Ryan Gonzales – 5th place

• Information Tech Concepts: Teresa Cano – 7th place; Esmeralda Hurtado – 8th place

• Advanced Interview Skills: Ryan Gonzales – 2nd place; advancing to Nationals

BPA is contributing to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. This year’s Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference will be held in Indianapolis, Ind.
