Crime Stoppers offers reward on truck, tool theft case

BEEVILLE – Police officers are looking for information that could lead to an arrest or arrests in the theft of a van and a large supply of plumbing tools in late December.

The white 2003 Ford van was reported missing from the 1100 block of North Berry Street on Dec. 22. The owner said it apparently was taken from in front of his residence in the early morning hours.

The van was discovered later burning in an area outside the city on FM Road 673 near the Mineral Cemetery Road.

Police Chief Joe Treviño said once the vehicle was recovered the owner reported that some tools had been taken before the fire was started.

Those missing tools included expensive drain rooting equipment and a variety of wrenches and other plumbing repair items.

Investigators with the Bee County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the arson.
