SKIDMORE – On Jan. 20, the S-T eighth grade ‘A’ team girls defeated rival George West 34-12 to raise their season record to 6-4 and improve in district to 4-4.

The Lady Cats raced out to a big 12-0 lead after one period and cruised the rest of the night. The S-T girls led 20-3 at the half and 26-9 at the end of three quarters.

Mireyna Solis led the S-T scoring with a game-high of 14 points. Isabel Rosenbaum hit for six markers and Mary Scott added four in the victory. McKayla Rocha also recorded four points and pulled down four rebounds for the Lady Cats.

“Tonight, our team continued to play their best ball of the season and got a win against George West,” said S-T coach Tim Stowe.

“We started off in our press, and it really affected George West’s game. We were able to force turnovers and convert them into points.”

The young Lady Cats played in San Diego on Monday.
