Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rosa Maria Ortiz; daughters, Yolanda Gonzales, Nora (Pedro) Moncavias and Marisol (Jesse) Garza, all of San Antonio; son, Cruz (Joann) Ortiz of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Emma, Michelle, Crystal, Joshua, Nicole, Cruz, Jr., Samantha, Justin, Christopher and Adrian; brothers, Victor (Gloria) Ortiz, Roberto (Sylvia) Ortiz, Cruz (Manuela) Ortiz and Daniel Ortiz; sisters, Antonia Torres and Alice (Larry) Rossett, both of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Antonia Ortiz; brothers, Doniciano and Isaac Ortiz; and sisters, Brigida Serenil, Juanita Ochoa and Pura Cruz.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 20, in Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy, with a prayer service held there that evening at 6 o’clock in the chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. with interment following in the Loma Alta Cemetery, Kenedy.
Pallbearers will be Cruz Ortiz, Jesse Garza, Angel Cruz, Joshua Ortiz, Justin Hettler, Christopher Hettler and John Raye Carmona.
