BEEVILLE – The JV soccer boys got their first taste of regular season action on Monday night when the Alice Coyotes paid a visit to Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The JV boys play two 30-minute halves. The young Trojans jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the strength of a Justice Estrada goal that found the back of the net mid-way through the first half.

Estrada made it 2-0 with a second half goal that was set up on a great lead pass from midfield. The visitors managed a late score but the Trojans shut out any further threats to capture the 2-1 victory and start their season 1-0.

“We got some good play on defense from Adrian Segovia, Joseph Campain, Ignacio Padilla and Pierce Dunn,” said JV coach Juan Guerrero.

Beeville keeper Trey Juare also did a fine job in goal to keep the Coyotes at bay most of the night.

Coach Guerrero pointed out and was pleased with the team’s hustle.

Ryan Gonzales, Christian Cuellar, Ribert Luna, Nick Haris, Jason Garza and Bryce Koenig all worked hard in the match, according to the coach.

The JV boys are in Victoria this weekend to compete in a tournament.
