Western Auto is long gone - bought years ago. I am sure many of you remember shopping there. My first bike - a Western Flyer - came from there. Most of the toys we grew up with were bought from there. Years ago, you didn't have as many options as you do know. I remember seeing computers - a Texas Instrument I believe - for sale in one such store. (If you have a story, we would love to hear it. Post it in a comment below.)
I bring all of this up only to introduce you to the Western Auto Wizards.
The Western Auto Wizards of 1976 were coached by Chuch Tanner, left, and Bob Cahill. Players are (from left, kneeling): David Mendez, Ruby Gomez, Mike Clark, Phillip DeLaune and Charles Tanner; (standing): Curtis Roberts, Roland Rodriguez, Nueeves Gonzales, Leroy Chapa, Robert Garza and Ronnie Molina.
