The staff of 10 different departments at City Hall went to work on a pumpkin decorating contest this month, displaying their efforts in the lobby just inside the front door. From the fire and police departments to the finance and water departments, the entries in the contest represented a variety of themes. The “Dia de los Muertos” entry from the finance department won first place with blinking eyes and a few gold teeth in a skeletal grin. Second place went to the utility department with a Dallas Cowboy in white face with starry eyes. The third place entry was a “Tin Man” entry provided by the crew at municipal court.
