What we know...
"Eighty students from kindergarten through sixth grade entered in the March 29, 1977 Skidmore-Tynan Elementary School bicycle rodeo. Competition included a written test on bicycle safety rules and a demonstration of ability to handle a bicycle. An average score on both tests determined the two winners in each grade. Receiving trophies were (front row, from left): Todd Trammel and Allison Ross, kindergarten; Stuart Mortensen and Mattie Hicks, first grade; Quentin Allen and Melissa Olivares, second grade; Tara Nunn and Joe Zavala, fourth grade; (back row): Gene Herrera and Cymantha Lieke, third grade; Philip Poole and Mary Rosenbaum, fifth grade; and Orlando Olivares and Jara Hailey, sixth grade."
