FALLS CITY – Every once in a while, a football team runs into a juggernaut and has to grab whatever they can from a big loss. It was one of those nights on Friday for the Pettus Eagles.

The state-ranked Falls City Beavers were golden on Friday. Everything they did on offense and defense seemed to turn into points on the scoreboard. The Beavers ran away from the Eagles 80-0.

The Eagles have to look forward and will seek to give the Woodsboro Eagles a tough match-up this Friday night.

“Our Pettus Eagles are by no means an 80-point lesser team than Falls City; however, last Friday we were, and it’s my job to fix it. There will be a much improved Pettus Eagle team vs. Woodsboro,” said Pettus head coach Dan Garza.

It will be a district game between the two Eagle squads and will be played in Pettus with the Bee County Eagles looking forward to showing their loyal following that last Friday night was just one of those games where everything that could went wrong.

The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
