Mr. Paulk was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Annona to Charles Cleveland and Winnie Davis Willis Paulk. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was retired from Celanese where he was employed for 37 years in the Paraform Unit. He was a member of Retama Park Baptist Church in Kingsville where he was a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathleen Paulk in 1975; second wife, Virginia Dooley Paulk in 2012; a daughter, Joyce Aguilar; and sons by the second marriage, Hugh and Larry Dooley.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherryl (Leon) Stolz and Martha (Tom) Franklin, both of Victoria, and Wanda (George) Gillett of Beeville; a son, Carroll “Bud” (Barbara) Paulk of Raleigh, N.C.; daughters-in-law, Della Dooley of Oklahoma City and Jacqui Dooley of Bentonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Sarah Lawson, Angela Dunkle, Clifford, Wendy and Annalisa Franklin, Kathy Redding, Teri White, Gary Gillett, Howard Arrington, Michael Paulk, Darryl Paulk, Robert Aguilar, Jaa Aguilar, Johna Hamilton, Cary Dooley, Christopher Dooley, Leslie Firth, Kim Biggers and Bill Dooley; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria with Rev. Les Cole, Rev. Gary Clements and nephew Ike Paulk officiating.
