The South Texas Underground Film Festival (STUFF) is at it again in Corpus Christi Oct. 3-6.

And for their second annual film festival they have even more great films, filmmakers and festivities for the entire family to enjoy (though some films do have mature content).

Films from all over the world will be screened at the event, and for those interested in trying their hand at acting, filmmaking or publishing, there will be a lot of workshops and artists with whom to chat.

Registration for the event will kick off Thursday at noon at the Art Center of Corpus Christi. There, you can get your badges, meet some of the festival organizers and get all the info and maps you need to make the best of the fest.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a barbecue will be held there as well for all filmmakers, sponsors and badge holders, so you can mingle and network and enjoy a few brewskis and barbecue before the films begin at 7:30 p.m.

STUFF will also host a Pub Crawl at 9:30 p.m. which will end up at The House of Rock, 511 Starr St. in Corpus Christi, for the opening night after party.

Friday, Oct. 4, the films begin rolling at 10:30 a.m. with movies from Turkey and Finland among others.

The entire day is chock full of events, films, filmmakers’ showcases, sneak previews of upcoming films from both local and worldwide presenters.

And from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the courtyard of the Art Center, Zine publishers will be on hand to sell their Zines as well as answer any questions you may have about independent publishing.

At 5:30 p.m., a mixer will take place at the Art Center of Corpus Christi where you can meet new friends or just catch up with old ones. It’s a good place to network and pitch ideas for a film to already established filmmakers.

Saturday, Oct. 6, the films begin unspooling at 10 a.m., and the day will feature a screenwriting class at noon at the Art Center of Corpus Christi where you can finally figure out how to get your ideas to the screen. The class will be taught by screenwriter Michael Canales.

Afterward at 1 p.m. a Filmmaking Essentials class will take place led by NALIP-SA and producer/filmmaker Veronica Hernandez. You’ll learn everything you need to learn about pre-production, production and post-production.

More events and films will be taking place throughout the day in downtown Corpus Christi.

Sunday, Oct. 6, the films will roll at 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. to close out the fest.

There will be tons of talent and films from around the world, so anyone interested in the filmmaking process or maybe just enjoying new and groundbreaking films should attend. If it’s anything like last year’s, it should be a blast.
