Mrs. Halcomb-Gorski was born Jan. 22, 1964, in Augusta, Ga., to Herman L. Halcomb and Maria Salazar Stiles. She was raised in Beeville and attended A.C. Jones High School, where she was a member of the Drill Team. She was also a member of the Bee County Law Enforcement Explorer Post. She married James “Jim” John Gorski on Oct. 15, 1985. They renewed their vows in a Catholic church on April 15, 1995.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jose P. Salazar; her step-father, Bernard H. Stiles; and her step-mother, Ethel Halcomb.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, James “Jim” Gorski, son Michael (April) Gorski, daughter Amanda Gorski, granddaughter Ava Gorski, and father Herman L. Halcomb, all of Bowling Green, Ky.; mother, Maria Salazar Stiles of Beeville; four brothers, Herman L. Halcomb of Pflugerville, William (Carmen) Halcomb of Wylie, Robert Lee Halcomb of Houston and Bernard Stiles Jr. of Beeville; a sister, Norma (Vicente) Cuellar of Fort Hood; maternal grandmother, Trinidad Salazar of Beeville; eight nephews, two nieces and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
