Council is in a pickle!

Regarding Beeville’s water situation, two things are abundantly clear to me: (1) the majority of the Citizens Water Committee voted in favor of the reverse osmosis alternative, if in fact formal cost estimates matched the committee’s projected costs; and (2) it is likely the majority of city councilmen favor purchasing water from the Bee Development Authority (BDA) in spite of risks affecting the ultimate cost of the water to this community.

So, will the council ignore the recommendation of the committee in order to satisfy the BDA’s need for operating funds? Let’s wait and see!

Incidentally, do any of your readers understand why the BDA is so insistent on selling water to our residents? I always thought the property, including the water rights, ultimately belonged to the residents of this community. This is the same organization that has always maintained an open hand for free money from this community. Now when this community is in need of assistance, the BDA can only see $ signs coming their way.
