Mrs. Wallace was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Freer, to Dee and Anna Waits. She graduated from Kingsville A&I and was a teacher for 30 years in Woodsboro and Victoria school districts. She was a active member of the First Baptist Church of Refugio, head of the Vacation Bible School for many years and worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Refugio. She also was involved in the Retired Teacher Association. She was one of three grannies of the Refugio Football Fans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Wallace; and a daughter, Susan Perez.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret (Brad) Carver of Victoria and Selma (Scott) Andrewartha of Taylor; two sons, John (Theresa) Barger of Baytown and David Barger of Lansing, Mich.; a sister, Mary Ann (Ernest) Hoffman of New Braunfels; 10 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First Baptist Church of Refugio. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Derek Carver, Brad Carver II, Michael McSwain, John D. Barger, Jared Barger and Zack Perez.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.
