BEEVILLE – Police Department investigators do not suspect foul play was involved in the death of a 45-year-old man found Monday in his home.

Detective Lt. Eddie Garcia said this week that the man’s body was discovered just before 3 p.m. on Aug. 5.

Friends and family members made the discovery after entering the home through a window to check on him after he failed to answer the door.

Garcia said there was no evidence of foul play inside the residence in the 1100 block of West Fannin Street.

Nueces County Medical Examiner Dr. Ray Fernandez said an autopsy of the victim’s body showed no signs of foul play. However, Garcia said Fernandez’s office was still waiting for toxicology test results.

Garcia said family members reported that the victim had been having health problems for some time.

Currently, investigators are assuming the death was the result of natural causes.
