Hoffmeier will deliver a riveting two-part lecture about the Bible and the Exodus. The CBC Lecture Series strives to provide the CBC community and student body with access to high quality, world renowned speakers who are experts in their field.
Hoffmeier is currently a professor of Near Eastern archaeology at Trinity International University, Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. He grew up in the Middle East and has been engaged in fieldwork and research in Egypt on a regular basis since 1975. He has published several books regarding the Bible and Egypt, and he’s spoken at various engagements all over the world.
The entire community is invited to hear Hoffmeier deliver informative lectures about the Bible, archaeology and history, and the Israelite Exodus from Egypt in this one-night only engagement. Tickets for the lecture series are available exclusively online at http://cbclectureseries.eventbrite.com.
Adult tickets are $12 each, and student tickets (with current/valid student ID) are $7 each. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for $25 and include a fully catered dinner with Hoffmeier before the lecture begins.
The event is sponsored in part by the Coastal Bend College Foundation which aims to raise funds to ensure student success at CBC.
The lecture will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. inside the Gertrude R. Jones Auditorium on the CBC Beeville campus.
There will be a brief intermission with refreshments from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and a question-and-answer session following the lecture, as well as a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
