Ms. Benson is one of nearly 10,000 clinicians across the country that provides care in underserved rural or urban areas. Ms. Benson stated that “she was happy to be joining the staff of the Karnes Community Health Center (KCHC). The KCHC has great community support, accreditation from The Joint Commission’s ambulatory care program and, is working towards designation as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). We all know these are challenging times in health care but, at the end of the day, it is what you did as a health professional for each patient that counts.”
Ms. Benson has 30 years of nursing experience in hospital sittings, private practice and other community health centers. She returned to Texas about 13 years ago after living in Alaska for 20 years. Ms. Benson lives in Floresville and has two grown children and grandchildren.
