BEEVILLE – Police officers and Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers are looking for information that could help them solve two recent crimes.

Police Chief Joe Treviño said one of the problems his officers would like to solve is a recent problem with someone painting graffiti at car washes on North Washington and West Corpus Christi streets.

The chief said the slogans painted on the walls at the car washes are gang related and the owner has been having to paint over the vandalized property every few days.

The other incident involves a hit-and-run accident that happened on March 31.

According to the victim of the accident, a brown Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe struck a vehicle as it was leaving the gate at the Amber Stone Apartments sometime between 8 and 9 p.m.

The motorist told police that the driver of the SUV sped up the vehicle and pulled in front of the victim’s Honda Civic.

The passenger side of the SUV struck the front end of the Honda causing $3,000 damage to the vehicle.

Instead of stopping, the driver of the SUV fled the scene.

The vehicle and the police are seeking any information that could lead to the identification of the person who caused the accident.

Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a criminal.

Anyone who might have information on either of the two crimes mentioned may call the Beeville Police Department at 358-8100 or Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 362-0206.
