The all-star games were scheduled this year at San Antonio’s Trinity University gym. In all, four games were to be played with the teams designated by classification on both the girls’ and boys’ side of the event.
The 1A through 3A all-star girls’ game began the afternoon of hoops with a 2:30 tip-off. The next contest was scheduled at 4:30 p.m. and had the 4A-5A and private school ladies on the court.
Schumacher and his squad, coached by Robert Loper from Frankston, were to take the floor at 6 p.m. Schumacher had Port Aransas star Tyler Pate as a teammate on the White squad. Then at 7:45 p.m., the 4A-5A and private school boys were to finish up the night of elite basketball.
Schumacher was an integral part of the Bobcats’ fine 28-4 regular season and their push to the Region IV tournament under head coach Adam Wollam.
“It is a great honor for Eric and our program to have him playing in this all-star game. It is a well-deserved honor and a great way to end his career as a Bobcat,” said Wollam.
