Water issues

In a recent letter, I urged voters to delay voting in the city bond election in hopes that additional information which some might find positive might become available. Sadly, it was determined by necessary participants that it was too late in the process to attempt to bridge the gap between opponents and proponents. Accordingly, I urge all qualified voters to educate themselves on the water problem so as to cast an informed vote. For what it is worth, I plan to vote “yes”, notwithstanding that I am distressed over how we got into the position in which we find ourselves. Without adequate water, Beeville property values will plummet as a result of economic losses which will occur if we do not have adequate water. Beeville’s potable water history illustrates that relying on unfiltered well water and/or surface water is risky business. If we are unable to find a way to help ourselves, please pray hard for a whole bunch of well located rain.
