Ranchers need to circle May 7 on their calendar for a Hay Harvesting/Production Field Day.

The field day will be held at the Brooks Ranch located at 2100 FM 534 in Mathis. The program is being jointly sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Fuller Tractor (providing the meal).

The program starts at 5 p.m. and will cost $10 per person. Topics of discussion will include: fire ants in hay fields, chemical updates for hay fields, and hay equipment discussion and demonstration. The program will offer two hours of CEU credit toward private applicator recertification.

Please RSVP to the Live Oak County Extension Office at 361-449-1703 or Fuller Tractor at 361-358-4084 by May 6 so coordinators can get a head count for the meal.
