An 8-month-old baby girl suffocated at a home in the 100 block of Hide-a-way Hills Road, off County Road 392, on Thursday, April 25, at 12:11 a.m., according to a Live Oak County sheriff’s report.

The call was placed by a woman who told the dispatcher the baby was not breathing. The baby had been in bed with her uncle, and, apparently, the uncle had rolled over onto the baby and got her stuck between himself and the wall, according to the call in the report.

The caller called Acadian for CPR instructions. Acadian arrived on the scene at 12:41 a.m.

The baby’s mother was at a game room celebrating a birthday during the time of the incident, and the uncle went to pick her up.

The baby was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Nueces County for an autopsy.

Live Oak County Sheriff Larry Busby said the autopsy revealed no signs of trauma and nothing to indicate foul play at this time.
