The program will start with “Water, a Ranch’s #1 Resource” with Dr. Diane Boellstorff. Dr. Megan Clayton, Extension range specialist, will discuss in the field “Effective Brush Control Techniques” followed by “Cattle Identification and Texas Animal Health Commission’s (TAHC) Marketability Program Demonstration” provided by Dr. T.R. Landsford, Texas Animal Health Commission veterinarian, and Brandon Manning from Allflex Tags.
TAHC will demonstrate the proper insertion of new metal marketability tags. These programs will be followed by a ranch tour which will include viewing of exotic wildlife, cattle operations, hay and crop production, and more. The event will adjourn at approximately 12:30 p.m. Papalote Ranch is a diverse agricultural operation that will be of interest to anyone.
Three CEU(s) will be provided for Private Pesticide Recertification. The cost for this year’s field day will be $15.
