The team placed 21st out of 60 teams throughout the state.
This year’s challenge was called “Molecule Mania” and was designed around a chemical engineering and/or chemistry theme. The idea behind the game was to manipulate checkers representing hydrogen and oxygen atoms and PVC couplers representing catalysts to form molecules on various locations on the game mat.
The students earned points based on the molecules they chose to create.
The students used LEGO Mindstorms Robotics kits to build their robot and ROBOTC to program their robot to perform the tasks. Many hours of work went in to building and programming their robot.
