Mr. Treviño was born Aug. 11, 1945, to Maria (Perez) and Alejandro Treviño Jr. He grew up in Beeville and was a 1964 graduate of A.C. Jones High School. He married Anne Benavides on June 29, 1968, in Austin and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966-68, earning two Purple Hearts along with other commendations for his service. After an honorable discharge, he moved to Austin. For most of his life, he worked in the retail industry for Levine’s, Best Buy and Solo Serve. His final job before retiring was working with his oldest son, Adrian, at Southside Pawn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Treviño Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Anne Treviño of Austin; his mother, Maria Perez Treviño of Beeville; a sister, Yolanda (Joe) Benavides of San Antonio; a brother, Erasmo Treviño of Beeville; two sons, Adrian J. (Wendi) Treviño and Damien S. Treviño (fiancée Cristy Reynolds), both of Austin; a grandson Alexander T. Treviño; future grandson, Joshua Avila; and numerous family members and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 o’clock at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Austin, with Father Hector Vega and Deacon Alfred Benavides (brother-in-law) officiating. Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Harrell Funeral Home in Austin.
