Audrey Elizabeth Ramirez, a senior at the University of Texas-Austin, returned recently from studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, through UT-Austin’s Summer 2012 Study Abroad Program. She resided in the Recoleta district in Buenos Aires with her Argentine host family.

While in Argentina, Audrey toured Colonia, Uruguay and the “wine country,” in Mendoza, Argentina. Her host mother is employed at the Chilean embassy in Buenos Aires, and Audrey had the opportunity to attend the opera at the famous Teatro Colon with her host mother and Chile’s ambassador to Argentina, Adolfo Zaldivar.

Audrey plans to graduate from UT-Austin in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She is the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Ramirez of McAllen and Beeville and the granddaughter of Elida Ramirez of Beeville and the late Lee Ramirez Sr.
