Martha Annette Walker, 68, of Beeville, Texas, formerly of Nauvoo, passed away after a lengthy illness Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Beeville, Texas. She was born March 13, 1944, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Eula (Wilkens) Baxter. She married Thomas L. Walker on June 22, 1963, in Nauvoo.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Beeville, Texas; one daughter, Deborah (Jim) Tulpa of Milford, Mich.; two sons, Thomas “Greg” (Mitzi) Walker of Seffner, Fla. and Todd (Lisa) Walker of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Jared Walker of Boston, Mass., Jeremy Walker and Sydney Walker of Seffner, Florida, Lauren Tulpa of Milford, Mich., and Gabrielle Walker of San Antonio; and two brothers, Robert Baxter of Highland, Ind., and Daniel Baxter of Altamont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Thomas; and an identical twin sister, Mary Patterson.

Martha was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas. She graduated from Saint Mary’s Academy in Nauvoo, and the Burlington Business College in Burlington, Iowa. Martha completed CNA training at Coastal Bend College, Beeville.

A memorial Mass was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 4, at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Szydlik as celebrant. Burial was at the Thornber Cemetery, Powellton.

Memorials have been established in her memory.

Pallbearers were Jared Walker, Jeremy Walker, Timothy Walker, Gerry Walker, Dustin Walker and Tom Balistreri.
