BEEVILLE – The Lott-Canada School Reunion will be held Aug. 2-5.

The two-day Ralph McCraig Golf Tournament will kick off the reunion on Thursday and Friday mornings at the John C. Beasley Municipal Golf Course. The tournament is open to the public; anyone interested should contact Karen Hadden at 542-4110. Tee off time will be at 7 a.m. both days.

Trophies will be awarded for first and second place winners in the championship flight, first and second flight. The overall winner will have their name engraved on the Ralph McCraig Golf Tournament plaque. The fee for both days is $65.

On Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m., a memorial ceremony will be held at St. Rose Cemetery. A gathering will then be held at the Coastal Bend College Lott-Canada building from noon to 3 p.m.

There will be lots of games, activities and food, as well as a visit to the museum to see the wall of honor and sharing of the history of the school and community. A banquet and fashion show will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a dance with DJ Craig Jefferson.

The reunion will end with Sunday services at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, and a luncheon. The alumni chorus will provide the music with Rev. Eugene Langley of San Marcos on the piano. Oliver Greer of Beaumont will be the guest minister. Both have ties to the Lott-Canada School.

To participate in any or all of the events, just show up and be prepared to enjoy what some call “the good ole days.” The cost to attend all the events on Saturday is $45 for adults (18-74) and $15 for ages 12-17. Ages 75 and over are free.
