The JHS junior varsity girls soccer team played host to Pleasanton on Tuesday night and earned a 2-2 tie with the visiting Eaglettes.
The Lady Trojans opened the scoring with a goal from Bianca Perez in the early part of the first half. The visitors tied it up with a goal of their own shortly thereafter.
The Beeville girls regained the lead at 2-1 when Alisa Patterson made good on a kick from out front at the 14:17 mark of the first half.
The second half was all defense. Both teams thwarted all scoring attempts with some good play from their defenders and keepers.
“The girls played well as a team. Some of them stepped up and played positions that they are not used to playing,” said Lady Trojan JV coach Melinda Trevino.
The JV girls will be in San Antonio on Saturday morning to meet the Harlandale girls. Monday evening, the McCollum Cowgirls will travel to Beeville to play the Lady Trojans.
