Mrs. Ybanez was born in George West on Sept. 29, 1922, to Felimon and Catarina Munoz Cuevas. She married Lasaro P. Ybanez on Oct. 18, 1947, in George West. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include six daughters, Soila (Max) Perez of George West, Sulema Molina of Beeville, Catherine Moya of Three Rivers, Gloria (Anthony) Wilhelm and Rosa Linda (Armando) Salazar, both of Victoria, and Elida (Arturo) DeLa Cruz of El Reno, Okla; three sons, Leonardo (Pat) Ybanez of Corpus Christi, David (Diana) Ybanez of Beeville and Lasaro (Melaine) Ybanez Jr. of Bradford, Ark; three sisters, Lupe Cuevas and Irene Morin, both of George West and Lenora Valverde of Mathis; 30 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lasaro P. Ybanez Sr; a daughter, Victoria Ybanez; and five brothers, Santos, Felipe, Jose, Desidiro and Orbano Cuevas.
Visitation was held Thursday, July 12, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel with a prayer service held at 7 o’clock Friday.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Church of Christ in George West. Interment followed at the George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Salazar, Leo Ybanez Jr., Artie DeLaCruz, Tony Wilhelm Jr., Shendo Molina and David Lee Ybanez.
Honorary pallbearers were Cathy Jo Stivers and Max Perez Jr.
