Bids for Kids as a bidder/buyer not only helped those that did not get a high bid for their project, but they stepped in and raised sale amounts by making bumps for livestock exhibitors who did not achieve a satisfactory minimum sale, they gave $150.00 to each livestock exhibitor that did not make the auction sale after having put in so much time and effort with their project and also gave $50.00 to all graduating seniors to express gratitude for their years of participation. BFK also assisted 11 Karnes County kids at this year’s San Antonio Livestock Show.
BFK works to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth - to promote participation in programs such as the KCYS and encourage “hands-on” learning, achievement, build character and strengthen confidence.
BFK relies on only one fundraiser a year to raise the funds to support these youth and needs your help. A Live Auction and BBQ/Fried Chicken Dinner fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Apr. 28 at the Cestohowa Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a BBQ/fried chicken dinner, starting at 6 p.m. There will be door prizes, a silent auction and live auction which will start at 7:30 p.m. BFK is selling raffle tickets with great prizes all valued over $200.00. Need not be present to win.
Come out, have some fun and show your support for Bids for Kids and the local youth! Let’s make this year’s fundraiser the best ever!
