Mr. Garcia was born April 18, 1928, in Sinton. He was an auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Isabel Garcia; his wife, Juanita Garcia; one daughter, Fidelia Salazar; three brothers, Santiago M. Garcia, Antonio M. Garcia and Jesus M. Garcia; and a sister, Gregoria Salazar.
Survivors include three sons, Benito Garcia of Texarkana, Visente Garcia of Beeville, and Juan Garcia of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Rita (Alfredo Rodriguez) Garcia and Margaret (Gerald) Salinas, both of Beeville; two brothers, Alvino M. Garcia of Houston and Lupe M. Garcia of Brenham; four sisters, Diana Gaitan, Ernestina Garcia and Evila Garcia, all of Louisiana, and Petra Olivares of San Antonio; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family received friends on Sunday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there Monday evening, Jan. 23, at 7 o’clock. Family again received friends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. that evening.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Gerald Salinas, Alfredo Rodriguez Jr., Visente Garcia, Juan Garcia, Benito Garcia and Danny Salazar.
