Ben Russel Rodriguez, age 17, passed away on May 30, 2011, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ben was born on May 1, 1994, in Beeville. Ben was a student at A.C. Jones High School and enjoyed skate boarding and playing his X-Box.

Survivors include his mother and step-father; Debbie D. Gomez and Adolfo Gomez Jr.; one brother, John Ross (Martina Barrera) Loya; one half-brother, Garen Rodriguez; maternal grandmother, Otilia Dominguez; his father, Benito Rodriguez; a niece, Alexis Nicole Alvarado, all of Beeville; and great-grandmother, Amelia Caballero from Pettus.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 4, at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. The body lay in state at 9 a.m. on Monday with the Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Garcia officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gilbert Moreno, Anthony De Leon, Derrick Mata, John “J.D.” Daez, Rico Cardenas, Jacob Benavides, Edwin Rhodes and Aaron Lusk.

Honorary pallbearer was Ruben Garza Jr.
