Patrolman Greg Baron offers a salute to the American flag after lowering the standard to half staff during the ceremony. Standing behind Baron are Patrolman Antonio Gutierrez and Reserve Officer Al Puga. The ceremony included a prayer by Beeville Police Department Chaplain Rev. Don Taylor of Faith Lutheran Church, the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance by Sheriff Carlos Carrizales, Jr., a reading of a mayor’s proclamation by City Councilman John Fulghum and the playing of Taps by music instructor Jaime Vela of A. C. Jones High School.
