Lori Valdez, formerly of Beeville, and Charles Reubens of Houston are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Pete and Jo Ethel Valdez of Beeville. She is a 1995 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and a 2001 graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration in management. She is currently employed as a child support officer for the office of the Attorney General, Child Support Division in Houston.

The prospective groom is the son of the late Arthur and Carol-Janice Reubens. He is a 1994 graduate of J. Frank Dobie High School and currently is employed as a department supervisor for Home Depot in Houston.

The couple plan to be wed on Jan. 15, 2011, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Houston. They will reside in Pearland.
