Mr. Coronado was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Zapata to Jose and Narcisa Coronado. He was a farmer and worked for the U.S. Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Christopher Richard Coronado.
Survivors include his wife, Emelina Coronado of Mathis; three sons, Adan (Emma) Coronado of Beeville, Serapio (Elda) Coronado Jr. and Humberto (Irene) Coronado, both of Mathis; two daughters, Eva (Ricardo) Delgado of Floresville and Cristela (Aaron) Rivera of Mathis; three sisters, Flora Coronado of California, Alejandra Villarreal of Dallas and Magdalena Moreno of Detroit, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis with Rev. Pasala officiating. Family and friends met at the church at 9 a.m. that morning. Burial followed at the Descanso Eterno #2 Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marcus Delgado, Michael Delgado, John Herrera, Serapio Coronado III, Christian Fonseca and Diego Fonseca.
